Woman Found Dead in Locked Palghar Flat on Satpati Road; Husband Missing

The decomposed body of a 30-year-old woman was discovered inside a locked flat near Ghodela Garden in the Satpati Road area of Maharashtra’s Palghar district, police officials said. The deceased has been identified as Pooja Mishra, who worked for a private company and resided in Flat No. 201 on the second floor of the building with her husband, Chandan Mishra.

The incident came to light after the woman's brother, Pradeep Kumar Mishra, travelled from Surat to Palghar to check on her wellbeing. Pradeep had been trying to contact his sister since the evening of August 22, around 8 pm. After she initially failed to answer her phone, the device was subsequently found to be switched off. When repeated attempts to reach her over a two-day period failed, he decided to visit her residence in person.

Upon arriving at the Satpati Road flat, Pradeep found the entrance locked from the outside. He noticed a strong, foul smell emanating from within the premises. Suspecting foul play or an emergency, he immediately alerted the authorities by dialling the emergency police helpline 112.

Following the alert, two police teams arrived at the residential building. Officers broke open the lock to gain entry into the flat and conducted a search of the premises. They discovered Pooja's decomposed body inside the bathroom.

Police officials sent the body for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause and timing of death. Investigators have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and have launched an inquiry into the incident.

Meanwhile, Pooja's husband, Chandan Mishra, to whom she had been married for six years, remains missing and unreachable. His sudden disappearance and lack of communication have raised suspicion, prompting police teams to track his whereabouts. The exact cause and circumstances surrounding the woman's death remain under investigation.
