24-Year-Old Kandivali Biker Dies in NH 30 Trailer Crash in Chhattisgarh
A 24-year-old female biker from Kandivali West in Mumbai died after her motorcycle was hit by a trailer near Marka Tola village on National Highway 30 in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district. The deceased rider has been identified as Riddhi Thakkar, who was travelling as part of an all-women biking trip from Mumbai towards Bastar.
The tragic accident took place while Thakkar was riding alongside a group comprising 23 women travelling together from Mumbai towards Bastar. According to police, most members of the group had moved ahead on the journey, while Riddhi Thakkar and a few other riders were travelling behind the main group.
At around 5 am to 6 am, a speeding trailer allegedly rammed her motorcycle from behind near Markatola Ghat on NH-30, while initial reports indicated a trailer coming from the opposite direction struck her bike. The severity of the impact threw her directly onto the road, leaving her critically and severely injured.
Immediately after the crash, an emergency assistance call was placed to 112. Thakkar was first rushed to a local health centre located in Charama for medical treatment. However, as her physical condition worsened rapidly at the health centre, she was shifted to a private hospital in Dhamtari. Doctors at the Dhamtari hospital examined her upon arrival and confirmed that she had succumbed to her injuries.
Local police have filed an official case in connection with the fatal collision and have initiated an investigation. As part of the ongoing probe, police officers are questioning the other women who were part of the bike group to record their statements and clarify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
On learning about the tragic incident, the Mayor of the Dhamtari Municipal Corporation reached the spot of the crash. The Mayor directly informed Thakkar’s family about the tragedy and assured the bereaved family that they would be provided with all possible assistance in the aftermath of the fatal accident.
