30-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Locked Palghar Flat, Husband Missing

A 30-year-old woman was found dead in a decomposed state inside her locked flat in the Satpati Road area of Palghar on August 24. Her husband is currently untraceable and has come under suspicion, though authorities are yet to establish the official cause of death.

The deceased, identified as Pooja Mishra, lived with her husband Chandan Mishra in flat number 201 on the second floor of the Funnel building near Ghodela Garden. The couple had been married for around six years, and Pooja was employed with a private company.

The discovery was made after the woman's brother, Pradeep Kumar Mishra, travelled to Palghar from Surat following repeated failed attempts to reach her. Pradeep had been calling Pooja since around 8 pm on August 22. She initially did not answer the phone, and the device was subsequently switched off.

After being unable to contact his sister for two days, Pradeep arrived at the apartment on August 24. He found the front door locked from the outside and noticed a strong foul smell coming from inside the flat, prompting him to call the police helpline number 112.

A police team arrived at the building, broke open the lock to gain entry, and discovered Pooja's decomposed body inside the bedroom.

Police have registered an accidental death report and sent the body for a postmortem examination. Officials said the exact cause of death will be established after the postmortem report is received.
