37 Flood-Hit Maharashtra Tourists Shifted to India, 60 Still Untraceable in Nepal

Authorities have established contact with 338 out of 404 people from Maharashtra stranded in the Nepal-Tibet region following flash floods on August 26. According to the Maharashtra government, 37 of the tourists confirmed safe are currently being shifted back to India.

Despite the progress in tracing individuals, 60 tourists who travelled to Nepal through Mumbai-based Richa Tours Pvt Ltd remain untraceable. Officials stated that rescue authorities have not yet been able to establish direct contact with this missing group.

In response to the emergency situation, the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) is coordinating directly with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) control room. The SEOC is regularly updating and sharing lists of traced and stranded citizens to assist ongoing relief and tracking efforts.
