37-Year-Old Man Arrested for Attempted Murder After Knife Attack in Filterpada

Powai police have arrested a 37-year-old man on charges of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a 28-year-old youth near Best Circle at Filterpada in Powai on July 23. Police took the accused into custody following the knife attack, which was reportedly motivated by an ongoing grudge over a past police complaint.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. while the victim, identified as Danish Khan, was eating an ice cream on the street. The suspect approached Khan and began hurling verbal abuses at him. The accused claimed that Khan's uncle had previously lodged a police complaint against him and his friend, which he alleged was causing trouble for him and his family.
The confrontation quickly turned physical as the suspect started pushing and shoving Khan before pulling out a knife. The accused brought the knife near Khan's throat with the intention of slashing him. Khan managed to duck to avoid the strike, but the knife slashed him across the back, causing him to suffer serious injuries.
As bystanders gathered at the scene to help Khan, the accused brandished his knife at the crowd and threatened them against stepping forward to intervene. Khan then attempted to escape by running toward his residence, but the suspect pursued him while holding the knife.
Upon reaching Khan's home, the accused issued dire threats to him in the presence of Khan's sister and aunt. The Powai police were subsequently informed of the attack. Officers registered a case against the 37-year-old accused and took him into custody.
