ACC Approves One-Year Extension for Railway Board Chief Satish Kumar

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a one-year extension for Shri Satish Kumar, Chairman and CEO of the Railway Board, according to official information released in Mumbai.

Kumar, a retired officer from the 1986 batch of the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS), will continue to lead the Railway Board on a contractual re-employment basis.

The approved extension will take effect from September 1, 2026. Under the terms of the ACC decision, he will serve on his existing terms and conditions for a period of one year, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
