BMC Issues Construction Site Safety Advisory Amid 80 Kmph Winds in Mumbai

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a safety advisory for all construction sites in Mumbai on July 6, 2026, at 11:45 AM IST, due to prevailing weather conditions.

The civic body issued the directive as Mumbai experienced strong winds reaching speeds of 70 to 80 kmph.

The advisory from the BMC directed several key stakeholders to take immediate precautionary measures. Those addressed in the order include developers, architects, licensed surveyors, contractors, project managers, and site engineers.

According to the BMC, these immediate precautionary measures are required to prevent accidents at construction sites across the city. The directive emphasizes the need to ensure the safety of workers on the sites, residents living nearby, and the general public.

The safety advisory was issued in direct response to the safety risks posed by the high-speed winds, which reached velocities of 70 to 80 kmph in Mumbai.
