BMC Orders Encroachment Removal and Road Upgrades at Prabhadevi Station

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has initiated a series of pedestrian safety and accessibility measures around Prabhadevi railway station, ordering the immediate removal of encroachments, improved taxi arrangements, and road resurfacing.

As part of the civic body's 'Pedestrian First' campaign, Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Prajakta Verma-Lavangare visited Prabhadevi railway station on Tuesday to review ongoing civic works and assess measures intended to streamline movement for commuters.

During the inspection, Verma-Lavangare examined the station's entry and exit routes along Balashet Madurkar Marg. She also reviewed the existing foot overbridge (FOB) and inspected the site for a proposed staircase, directing officials to expedite the work to ease commuter access.

According to an official statement issued by the BMC, the commissioner held detailed discussions with officials regarding pedestrian safety, traffic management, existing FOB infrastructure, and access corridors leading to and from the station.
