BMC Panel to Consider Deleting Garden Reservation at Goregaon Patra Chawl Site

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Improvement Committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday to consider a proposal to amend Development Plan 2034, focusing on the Patra Chawl redevelopment project site in Goregaon West. The civic panel will discuss deleting the existing garden reservation on the plot to adjust the current planning framework.

The proposal specifically covers 305 square metres of land earmarked for a garden within the Patra Chawl redevelopment project area in Goregaon West. Under the proposed amendment, the land would be removed from its current reservation status.

If the civic panel approves the move, the amendment will pave the way for a change in land use classification. The proposal seeks to convert the reserved open space into a residential zone, altering the land classification within the redevelopment project site.
