Bombay HC Allows 5 MCA Eateries in Bandra-Kurla Complex to Reopen

The Bombay High Court on Saturday allowed five eateries operating on the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) premises in Bandra-Kurla Complex to reopen, setting aside a suspension order issued by the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ravindra Ghuge and Justice Gautam Ankhad vacated the FDA's order that had suspended the operating licences of the five food establishments located on the MCA premises.

While ruling on the matter, the court pulled up the Maharashtra FDA over its regulatory actions, observing that the authority had taken a “pedantic instead of pragmatic” approach.

With the division bench vacating the licence suspensions, the five restaurants within the MCA premises have been permitted to resume operations.
