Eight Vehicles Damaged After Wall Collapses in Thane Wagle Estate

Eight vehicles were damaged after the boundary wall of an open plot collapsed near a chawl in the Wagle Estate area of Thane shortly after midnight on Thursday, June 25, 2026. The incident, which occurred at 12:34 am, did not result in any casualties or injuries to residents, according to local disaster management officials.

Yasin Tadvi, the chief of the Thane Regional Disaster Management Cell, confirmed that the collapsed structure was the boundary wall of an open plot. The wall measured approximately seven feet in height and ten feet in length. It collapsed onto several vehicles that were parked near the row tenement chawl in Wagle Estate.

The damage was extensive for the vehicles parked along the wall. In total, eight vehicles were affected, consisting of seven auto-rickshaws and one motorcycle. No individuals were inside the vehicles or near the wall at the exact moment of the collapse, preventing any physical injuries or loss of life.

The local disaster control room was first alerted to the incident when a resident living in the vicinity placed an emergency call at 12:34 am. Upon receiving the distress call, emergency teams were immediately dispatched to the Wagle Estate location. Rescue and fire personnel quickly arrived at the site to begin operations.

The responding rescue and fire personnel worked to clear the heavy debris left by the collapsed seven-foot wall. The emergency teams successfully extricated the trapped auto-rickshaws and motorcycle from underneath the rubble. Additionally, the personnel cleared the scattered debris from the road to ensure that traffic movement in the area could resume without any further obstruction.

In light of the incident and the ongoing active monsoon season, civic authorities in Thane have issued an appeal to the public. Officials have urged residents to avoid parking their vehicles adjacent to old, weak, or structurally vulnerable walls to mitigate the risk of similar accidents during the rainy season.
