Eknath Shinde Urges BRICS Cities to Share Tech for Urban Development

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde called on BRICS cities to share technology, expertise, and innovations to address common urban challenges during his address at the BRICS Friendship Cities Conclave 2026 in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Shinde, who attended the conclave in Mumbai as the chief guest, stressed that BRICS member countries should exchange advanced technology, expertise, knowledge, and information with one another. He stated that this level of cooperation is necessary to accelerate global development and enable cities to achieve sustainable growth.
Addressing the audience at the event, the Deputy Chief Minister called for greater sharing of experiences, technologies, and innovations among the cities of BRICS nations. He highlighted that such partnership is key to building resilient, innovative, collaborative, and sustainable cities that focus directly on citizens' needs.
Shinde emphasized that joint efforts among BRICS cities will help tackle shared urban challenges and drive long-term development across member locations.
