Fadnavis Criticises Congress on Vande Mataram and Rahul Gandhi Pune Event

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis criticised the Congress party on Thursday over its decision to sing only two stanzas of the national song, Vande Mataram, at official party functions, terming the move contrary to the Constitution.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme in Nagpur, Fadnavis described the Opposition party's stance as a reflection of its "mental enslavement". He stated that shortening the rendition of the national song at party events went against constitutional principles.
During his interaction with the media in Nagpur, the Chief Minister also directed criticism at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding an upcoming youth event titled 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' scheduled to take place in Pune.
Fadnavis questioned the nature of the upcoming Pune gathering, stating that according to his information, the event would primarily be attended by students brought in from educational institutions and colleges operated by Congress leaders.
The remarks came amid ongoing political exchanges between the ruling administration and the Opposition party across Maharashtra.
