Former Buldhana MLA Suggests Bureaucrats Get Transfusion Of FDA Chief Mundhe Blood

Former Buldhana district MLA Subodh Bhau Saoji has written a satirical letter to Maharashtra Chief Secretary Rajesh Agrawal praising FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe's recent anti-corruption crackdowns, which included a major cosmetics raid in Andheri East. In the letter, Saoji humorously suggested that other state department heads receive a "blood transfusion" of Mundhe's blood to inspire dedication and fearlessness.

Saoji, a former three-time legislator, stated that Mundhe's aggressive actions have rattled corrupt elements and helped curb malpractice across Maharashtra. He noted that the public expects all senior government officials to demonstrate the same level of commitment, integrity, and efficiency in public service.

Using humour and symbolism, Saoji proposed distributing a bottle of Mundhe's blood in small portions among all departmental heads, including the Chief Secretary. Drawing a parallel with blood transfusions used to strengthen weak patients, he wrote that such a step could inspire officials to perform their duties with similar zeal, ultimately making Maharashtra more prosperous and better governed.

The satirical letter follows a series of high-profile enforcement actions by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under Mundhe's leadership. Earlier this week, the FDA seized illegal and allegedly misbranded cosmetics worth Rs 1.53 crore during twin raids conducted in Mumbai and Bhiwandi.

In Andheri East, FDA officials raided M/s Diya Enterprises and seized cosmetic products worth Rs 29.84 lakh, including children's and men's grooming products. The packaging of the seized goods bore a non-existent manufacturer's address and lacked mandatory details such as batch numbers, manufacturing dates, and expiry dates.

In a separate operation in Bhiwandi, officials uncovered an unlicensed cosmetics manufacturing unit operated by M/s Ccigmaa Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd. and seized stock and machinery worth Rs 1.23 crore. The factory, which allegedly manufactured products without a valid licence and sold them through e-commerce platforms using a false Mumbai address, was sealed.

A criminal case has been registered at Narpoli Police Station regarding the Bhiwandi raid. The promoters of M/s Ccigmaa Lifestyle Pvt. Ltd. subsequently approached the Bombay High Court and were granted anticipatory bail on June 29, 2026, upon furnishing a PR bond of Rs 50,000.
