Iconic Ganpati Idols Arrive in Lalbaug-Parel Belt During Ganesh Aagman

Thousands of devotees gathered across the Lalbaug-Parel belt on Sunday, August 16, as Mumbai welcomed several iconic Ganpati idols during the ongoing Ganesh Aagman processions. The arrivals marked another major day of celebrations leading up to Ganeshotsav, following the city's first Maha-Aagman Sohla held on August 15.
Several renowned Ganpati mandals brought their idols through the streets toward their respective pandals, drawing large crowds of devotees who stepped out to witness the spectacles. The day's processions showcased a variety of artistic styles, ranging from towering royal avatars to gravity-defying balancing idols.
One of the biggest highlights of the August 16 arrivals was Kalachowkicha Mahaganpati. The massive balancing idol caught widespread attention as it appeared to stand on a majestic lion with both of its legs lifted in the air, creating a striking gravity-defying visual for the devotees gathered along the route.
Fort Cha Raja arrived in a grand royal avatar, mounted on an intricately designed lion throne. The setup featured a goddess placed majestically in the backdrop, adding to the grandeur of the idol's overall appearance.
Another major idol, Khetwadicha Raja, made a royal appearance adorned with elaborate floral motifs. The massive idol was shown holding a traditional musical instrument, adding a distinct cultural touch to its presentation.
The procession also saw the arrival of Valsad Cha Samrat, which featured the idol seated royally alongside one of his consorts atop a beautifully decorated peacock. The idol stood out during the day's events due to its intricate detailing and charming expression.
Additionally, Mumbaicha Samrat arrived in an imposing royal avatar, seated against a grand golden throne. A depiction of Lord Krishna formed the striking backdrop, giving the idol a majestic and divine setting.
With more iconic Ganpati idols scheduled to arrive in the coming days, the Ganesh Aagman celebrations across Mumbai continue to draw devotees onto the streets ahead of the festival.
