Igatpuri Tunnel on Samruddhi Mahamarg to Close for One Hour on August 27

The Igatpuri Tunnel on the Nagpur-Mumbai corridor of the Hindu Hrudaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg will remain closed for one hour on Thursday, August 27, to facilitate a comprehensive mock drill of the tunnel's fire prevention and safety system.

The closure will be in effect between 12 noon and 1 pm. During this one-hour operational window, safety teams will conduct drills to assess emergency response protocols and fire containment equipment inside the tunnel.

Authorities have arranged alternative routes for affected vehicular movement. Motorists travelling toward Mumbai from Nagpur, Nashik, or Igatpuri will be diverted at Igatpuri to take the old Mumbai-Agra Highway through the ghat route during the drill period.

Traffic moving in the opposite direction will experience no disruptions. The Igatpuri Tunnel heading toward the Nagpur direction will remain fully open for regular traffic throughout the exercise.
