Kajri Festival and Student Felicitation Organised in Tisgaon, Kalyan East

Youth organisation Nav Abhiyan – Ek Yuva Sankalp organised a traditional Kajri festival and meritorious students' felicitation ceremony at Tisai Hall in Tisgaon, Kalyan East, to celebrate the cultural traditions of the month of Shravan.

The event drew hundreds of women, children, and prominent local residents. Renowned Kajri singers Shivam Pandey and Mamta Upadhyay performed traditional folk songs for the gathering.

Kalyan East MLA Sulabha Ganpat Gaikwad attended the programme as the chief guest and felicitated meritorious students by presenting them with shawls and mementoes. Gaikwad congratulated the students on their academic achievements and offered her best wishes for their future endeavours.

During the event, a special felicitation was also presented to young community member Prathamesh Prashant Pandey. According to the organisers, Pandey designed the card launched in Maharashtra for women availing concessions on state transport buses. MLA Gaikwad presented Pandey with a memento to recognise his contribution.

Ramakant Upadhyay, chief mentor of Nav Abhiyan – Ek Yuva Sankalp, attended the gathering alongside organisation president and organiser Vijay Upadhyay. Vijay Upadhyay stated that the initiative was designed to connect the younger generation with Indian culture, traditional festivals, and regional folk heritage.

Several community dignitaries were present at the programme, including C.P. Mishra, Baban Chaubey, Dharmaraj Tiwari, Balkrishna Mishra, Dinesh Dubey, and Girijashankar Mishra.

The organisers acknowledged the efforts of volunteers and members who managed the event, including Sanjay Mishra, Bablu Pandey, Arvind Mishra, Rajendra Singh, B.P. Singh, Bunty Tiwari, Saurabh Singh, and Prashant Mishra.
