Massive Fire Damages Top Floor Of Dalmia School In Mira Road

A massive fire broke out on the top floor of the Dalmia School building in Mira Road, near the ISKCON Temple in Maharashtra's Palghar district, on Wednesday morning. The blaze, which was reported at around 6:00 AM, gutted the school's library, auditorium, laboratories, and several classrooms.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. School authorities acted quickly to evacuate all students and staff safely from the premises, ensuring that no one was trapped inside the building.
According to the civic body's Chief Fire Officer, Prakash Borade, the fire originated in the educational institute's auditorium. It then spread to the battery backup room located on the sixth floor of the building. Both of these areas were completely gutted by the blaze.
A team of firefighters rushed to the scene to contain the flames. A total of eight fire engines and four water tankers were deployed for the firefighting operations. Firefighters were seen using hydraulic ladders to reach the upper floor of the school to battle the fire.
Chief Fire Officer Borade stated that the firefighting team battled the flames for nearly 90 minutes before successfully bringing the situation under control. Following this, fire brigade personnel continued dousing operations for several hours to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the school. Cooling operations were also undertaken immediately after.
Videos of the incident surfaced on social media, showing dense black smoke rising into the sky as flames engulfed a significant portion of the school building's top floor.
The exact cause of the blaze is yet to be determined. Authorities confirmed that a detailed investigation will be carried out after the cooling operations are completed to ascertain what triggered the fire. The incident has caused major structural and infrastructural damage to the school.
