Mumbai Lake Levels Reach 92.16% Capacity With Three Reservoirs Full

Water stock across the seven lakes supplying drinking water to Mumbai reached 92.16 per cent of their total live storage capacity on Monday, August 17, according to data recorded at 6 am by the Hydraulic Engineer's Department at the Bhandup Master Control Centre.

The seven reservoirs collectively held 13,33,884 million litres of water. Among the key water bodies, three reservoirs—Vihar, Tulsi, and Modak Sagar—remained at full capacity at 100 per cent live storage, as light showers continued across their catchment areas.

The current water reserve marks an increase compared to the corresponding timeframe last year. During the same period in the previous year, the city's reservoirs held 13,12,539 million litres of water, amounting to 90.68 per cent of the total live storage capacity.

However, the present stock remains lower than the levels logged during the same period in 2024. In 2024, the water stock across the seven lakes stood at 13,48,885 million litres, which accounted for 93.20 per cent of the total capacity.
