Mumbai-Nanded Vande Bharat Express Delayed for 32 Mins Near Kasara

The Mumbai–Nanded Vande Bharat Express, Train No. 20706, was delayed for around 32 minutes on Monday afternoon following an overhead equipment issue in the ghat section between Kasara and Igatpuri. The technical failure briefly halted the service before railway maintenance personnel restored the system to allow the train to safely continue its journey.

The delay occurred after an overhead equipment (OHE) insulator failed to hold properly along the stretch between Kasara and Igatpuri. The failure of the insulator disrupted the power supply required by the electric train, prompting the Vande Bharat Express to come to a halt at 4:35 pm.

Upon being notified of the power supply disruption, railway maintenance teams launched an immediate response. Officials and technical staff reached the site in the Kasara–Igatpuri ghat section to inspect the overhead line and attend to the damaged component on a priority basis. Repairs were carried out directly at the location to ensure the line could be restored as quickly as possible.

Following the completion of the necessary repair work on the faulty insulator, the overhead equipment was checked and declared fit for operational use. The train was subsequently cleared to proceed at 5:07 pm, after remaining halted for 32 minutes. The service then resumed its onward journey towards Nanded without any further technical disruptions along the route.

Railway officials noted that maintaining uninterrupted functioning of overhead equipment is essential for ensuring the safe and timely movement of electric trains, especially through the busy ghat section. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incident, and no other operational issues occurred as a result of the brief stoppage.
