Navy Sailor, Wife and Two Children Found Dead at Residence in Colaba's Navy Nagar

An Indian Navy sailor, his wife, and their two young children were found dead at their official residence in Navy Nagar, Colaba, prompting a comprehensive investigation by the police and naval authorities.

According to preliminary information, the sailor is suspected to have died by suicide by hanging. The bodies of his wife and their two children, aged two months and three years, were also discovered inside the residence.

Prima facie findings indicate that poisoning may have been the cause of death for the children. However, officials noted that the exact causes of death will only be confirmed once post-mortem and forensic examination reports are formally concluded.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations, and forensic teams have gathered evidence from the scene. Investigators are currently recording statements from family members, neighbours, and other witnesses to reconstruct the sequence of events.

The Indian Navy confirmed the incident in an official statement, noting that the sailor, his wife, and two children were found dead on August 15. The Navy stated that an investigation by the police is in progress and that the force is extending all possible assistance to the authorities.

The circumstances and motives leading to the deaths remain under investigation, and further details are awaited as the inquiry progresses.
