One Dead, One Critical After Car Rams Parked Bikes Near Sonari Phata Chowk

One person was killed and another was critically injured in a severe accident after a car rammed into two motorcycles parked by the roadside near Sonari Phata Chowk on the Himayatnagar-Bhokar National Highway in Maharashtra. The entire collision was captured on CCTV cameras.

The deceased has been identified as Sheikh Sohail Sheikh Zaheer, while the critically injured individual has been identified as Sheikh Jikran Sheikh Siraj. Both of the victims are residents of Sonari. Following the dramatic impact, Sheikh Sohail Sheikh Zaheer succumbed to his injuries before he could reach the hospital. Sheikh Jikran Sheikh Siraj was rushed for emergency care and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Nanded.

Visuals captured on CCTV depict the moment the four-wheeler collided directly into the two stationary motorcycles parked on the roadside. The collision caused extensive damage to both two-wheelers, which bore registration numbers TS 18 G 1817 and MH 26 BS 5269.

The severe collision near Sonari Phata Chowk has sparked widespread concerns over road safety, with several people criticising the accident and highlighting safety issues along the highway stretch.

Upon receiving information about the crash, police officials rushed to the spot along the Himayatnagar-Bhokar National Highway to inspect the scene and manage the situation. Police personnel conducted a formal panchnama at the crash site.

Law enforcement authorities have official taken up the matter for investigation to determine the complete details surrounding the vehicle collision. Police officials confirmed that further details regarding the ongoing probe are currently awaited.
