Palghar Student Urges PM Modi and CM Fadnavis for Bridge Over Vaitarna Creek

A school student from Palghar has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, demanding the construction of a bridge over the Vaitarna Creek so that children no longer have to risk their lives on dangerous routes to attend classes.

The appeal was made by student Sohil Sunil Chaudhari in a video shared by Lokshahi Marathi. In the video, titled "When will a bridge be built over Vaitarna Creek? Students and residents demand action from the administration," Sohil highlighted the severe daily hardships faced by schoolchildren and local residents due to the lack of a proper road and bridge in the area.

Sohil directly addressed the Prime Minister, questioning the absence of basic infrastructure for rural students. "Honourable Prime Minister of India, Modi Saheb, you say all over the TV that children are the future of India. Then why isn't there a simple road for children of our age to get an education?" he asked.

The student described how children are forced to carry both their school bags and a constant fear of death on their daily commute. Because there is no safe route to reach their school, students walk along railway infrastructure. "We have to walk along that life-threatening railway track and bridge every day. If an express train comes from behind, we tremble with fear," Sohil said.

Turning his appeal to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the student pointed to large-scale transport infrastructure across the nation and contrasted it with local realities. "Fadnavis Saheb, you have brought big roads and bullet trains to the entire country, haven’t you? Then why is there only a track of death in our destiny? Give us the road that is our right," he said.

The schoolboy's video has brought renewed focus to the long-standing demand from residents and students for a bridge across the Vaitarna Creek. Local residents have reiterated that the absence of proper connectivity makes travel dangerous for the entire community and have demanded that the administration provide a safe, accessible crossing.
