Point Failure at Bhandup Disrupts Morning Central Railway Local Services

Commuters on Central Railway's Up line faced travel disruptions during the morning rush on Thursday following a technical point failure at Bhandup station.
The glitch, which impacted the functioning of Up line signal S23, occurred during the peak morning travel hours as thousands of passengers were travelling towards Mumbai. According to railway officials, the fault was first reported at 7:47 am.
During the 48-minute disruption, Up local train services were passed on an authorised marker while railway personnel managed train movements manually and worked to repair the system.
The signalling failure affected the frequency of Up local services, leading to delays and crowding across platforms and trains during one of the busiest travel periods of the day. Commuters expressed frustration as the operational disruption slowed down their morning transit.
Railway technical staff resolved the fault by 8:35 am, bringing the affected signalling system back to normal working condition. Railway officials confirmed that normal operations resumed immediately after the issue was rectified.
