Rabale Driver Booked After Tempo Rams Car on Old Mumbai-Pune Highway

A 30-year-old tempo driver from Rabale in Navi Mumbai has been booked by police after his speeding vehicle crashed into a car from behind on the Old Mumbai-Pune Highway on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident took place around 1.30 pm while travelling on the stretch from Dehu Road toward Talegaon Dabhade, approximately 500 metres away from Central Chowk.
According to police, 23-year-old Gaurav Sunil Shelke, a resident of Bebadohal in Maval taluka of Pune district, was driving his Swift Dzire along the highway when an Eicher tempo struck his vehicle from behind.
The tempo driver, identified as Arun Ambadas Nanjire, a resident of Mahatma Gandhi Nagar in Rabale, Navi Mumbai, was allegedly driving at high speed and in a rash manner at the time of the collision.
The impact caused severe damage to Shelke's car. Following the collision, Shelke approached the authorities and lodged a formal complaint regarding the incident.
Based on Shelke's complaint, the Dehu Road Police registered a case against Nanjire. Police officials confirmed that an investigation into the collision is currently underway.
