Raveena Tandon Attends Artist Kiran Chopra's Art Exhibition in Mumbai

Actor and art collector Raveena Tandon attended artist Kiran Chopra’s exhibition in Mumbai, marking Chopra's 35-year journey in the art world and praising her distinctive artistic language.

Speaking at the event, Tandon highlighted Chopra's contribution to the Indian art landscape. She stated that after looking further into the artist's work, she recognised Chopra as one of the staunch pillars of the art foundations in the country, describing the pieces on display as exquisite.

Tandon also noted the complexity and technique involved in Chopra's creations, specifically pointing out the contrast and depth achieved in monochrome formats. She observed that while artists have different ways of painting, drawing, and interpreting their emotions, achieving such depth in black and white is difficult, adding that the vibrancy coming through with spurts of colour against the black background added to the beauty of the collection.

The spiritual themes featured in the exhibition resonated strongly with the actor. Tandon highlighted several paintings portraying spiritual figures, including depictions of Mahadev and Parvati, Krishna and Meera, and Balaji. She remarked that these pieces appealed directly to her spiritual side while commending the visual impact of the spiritual and black-and-white works alike.

The gathering also revealed a personal connection between the actor and the artist. During the event, Tandon discovered that Chopra had once lived as a neighbour to her parents at their family home in Gwalior.
