Sachin Waze Questions Lack of Ambani Statements in Antilia Case Plea

Dismissed police officer Sachin Waze, an accused in the Antilia bomb scare and Mansukh Hiran murder case, has moved an application before a special National Investigation Agency court in Mumbai, questioning the absence of statements from industrialist Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani.

In his plea filed before the special court, Waze raised questions over why the investigating agency had not recorded any statement from the alleged victims linked to the Antilia incident. He highlighted that despite the passage of time, no formal statements from the Ambani family were part of the official case records.

"This means even after more than five years none of the alleged real victims have come forward yet to mention that any of them or all of them indeed received any threat or for that matter any or all of them were indeed terrorised by some anonymous silly threat note as well as by unexplodable minor stuff of explosives," the plea stated.

Waze noted in his submission that the investigating agency had previously reserved the right to record statements from members of the Ambani family as and when deemed necessary. However, he pointed out that their names do not currently appear in the official list of individuals whose statements are marked as not recorded.

The application moved by the dismissed officer sought directions for the case diary and station diary to be called for by the court before the first witness steps into the witness box. Waze requested that these documents be kept in a sealed condition on the court record.

According to the plea, securing the case diary and station diary before the trial begins is essential to prevent any potential later insertions, corrections, or omissions in the official records.

Waze also raised allegations against the investigators, stating in his plea that multiple witnesses were pressurised by NIA officers to record statements in accordance with a set narrative.

After hearing the initial submissions, the special court directed the prosecution to submit its replies to Waze's plea and adjourned the matter to Friday.
