Shiv Sena Launches Mission Gen Z with Youth Representatives Camp in Mumbai

Shiv Sena has launched 'Mission Gen Z', an outreach initiative aimed at understanding the aspirations and expectations of younger generations, during a Youth Public Representatives' Interaction Camp organised in Mumbai.

The camp brought together more than 250 elected representatives aged between 20 and 30 from both urban and rural parts of Maharashtra. The participants included corporators, municipal council presidents, mayors, Panchayat Samiti members, Zilla Parishad representatives and delegates from the cooperative sector.

Shiv Sena MP and Parliamentary Party leader Dr Shrikant Shinde guided the participants, describing young elected officials as the party's "brand ambassadors" who can bridge the gap between governance and youth. Minister of State Yogesh Kadam also addressed and guided the attendees during the session.

For discussions, participants were divided into twenty groups of 10 to 12 members each, mixing representatives from diverse regions including Konkan, Vidarbha, Marathwada and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The groups examined regional challenges and proposed measures to be implemented within the next 30 days.

Key suggestions raised during the discussions included developing sports complexes and playgrounds, improving libraries, setting up career guidance and employment portals, establishing skill development centres, and organising youth festivals in colleges. Representatives also recommended de-addiction drives, self-defence training for women, and introducing foreign-language training in Zilla Parishad schools.

Dr Shinde stated that the suggestions collected from the camp will be submitted to the government to pursue policy action. He noted that regular training programmes will be conducted to sustain direct dialogue with students and young professionals on issues such as education, examinations, and employment.

Under 'Mission Gen Z', Shiv Sena plans to hold another interaction and training camp after 30 days to build short-, medium-, and long-term governance strategies focused on youth priorities.
