Two Brothers Killed in Truck Collision at Baramati's Ahilyabai Chowk

Two brothers were killed in a road accident after their motorcycle collided with a truck carrying goods at Ahilyabai Chowk on the Supe-Chauphula Road in Baramati taluka on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Somnath Dattatraya Thombre and Shubham Dattatraya Thombre, both residents of Shendgewada in Supe.
According to police officials, the two brothers met with the accident while they were on their way home after attending school in Morgaon. The incident occurred as they were navigating their motorcycle along the Supe-Chauphula Road.
It is believed that the brothers came under the truck while allegedly attempting to take a turn near Ahilyabai Chowk. During the maneuver, their motorcycle suddenly skidded, causing them to lose control of the vehicle and fall directly under the goods truck. CCTV footage from the location captured the moment the motorcycle collided with the truck.
Upon witnessing the collision, nearby people immediately rushed to the spot to assess the situation and help the brothers.
Somnath sustained fatal injuries from the impact and died on the spot. Shubham, who was critically injured, was quickly rushed to Vishwaraj Hospital in Loni Kalbhor for emergency treatment. However, despite being rushed to the hospital, Shubham later succumbed to his injuries.
Following the deaths of the two brothers, a case has been registered by the police. Officials are currently carrying out an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident, including assessing whether vehicle speed or road conditions contributed to the tragedy. In addition, police have taken the truck involved in the accident into custody as part of the investigation.
