Varun Dhawan to Star in David Dhawan Comedy Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

The upcoming Bollywood comedy-drama 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai', directed by David Dhawan, is scheduled to hit theatres in 2026. Starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde, the film revolves around a chaotic turn of events in the life of a wedding photographer and his two partners.

The storyline follows Jaswinder, also known as Jass, played by Varun Dhawan. Jass is a professional wedding photographer who falls in love with Bani, played by Mrunal Thakur, while covering her sister's wedding. Bani is charmed by him, and the two eventually get married.

However, the relationship faces trouble five years later. Bani decides to ask for a divorce because Jass wants to have a child, a plan that she strongly opposes. The case goes to court, where a judge, played by Ali Asgar, decides to annul the marriage after a six-month period in the hopes that the couple might reconcile. Despite the waiting period, Bani remains clear about her decision to separate from Jass.

Following the separation, a heartbroken Jass relocates to London. In London, he meets Preet, played by Pooja Hegde, and the two begin dating. Their relationship progresses smoothly until a sudden turn of events disrupts Jass's new life.

Bani unexpectedly arrives at Jass's residence in London and announces that she is pregnant with his child. Coincidentally, on the very same day, Preet also informs Jass that she is expecting a baby with him. The rest of the film details the ensuing complications and comic situations arising from Jass finding himself with two pregnant partners.

Ahead of its 2026 release, promotional materials for the film have started emerging. These include dozens of movie stills and promotional videos. Among the early releases is a song titled 'Chunnari Chunnari – Let’s Go', featuring the lead cast of Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde.
