Varun Dhawan to Star in David Dhawan's 2026 Film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai

The upcoming Bollywood film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, directed by David Dhawan and starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde, is scheduled for release in 2026. Details regarding the film's plot, cast, and soundtrack have been made public ahead of its theatrical launch.

The comedy-drama centers on the life of Jaswinder, also known as Jass, played by Varun Dhawan. Jass works as a wedding photographer and falls in love with Bani, played by Mrunal Thakur, while working at her sister's wedding. After Bani is charmed by him, the couple decides to get married.

The storyline takes a turn five years later when Bani asks for a divorce. The conflict arises because Jass wishes to have a child, while Bani remains strongly opposed to the idea. The case goes before a judge, played by Ali Asgar, who decides to annul the marriage after a six-month period, holding onto the hope that the couple will eventually reconcile. However, Bani remains firm in her decision to separate.

Following the heartbreak, Jass relocates to London to start a new life. In London, he meets Preet, played by Pooja Hegde, and the two begin dating. Their relationship progresses smoothly until Bani unexpectedly arrives at Jass's residence in London.

Bani announces that she is pregnant with Jass's child. In a sudden twist, Preet also informs Jass on the very same day that she is expecting his child as well. The film follows the ensuing complications arising from Jass finding himself with two pregnant partners.

In addition to the main cast, the film's promotional materials indicate the inclusion of a song titled "Chunnari Chunnari – Let’s Go," featuring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hegde. A series of promotional photos and videos have also been prepared ahead of the film's 2026 release.
