Virar-Bharuch MEMU Derails at Bhilad Station, Western Railway Trains Delayed

Four wheels of the leading Driving Motor Coach of the Virar–Bharuch MEMU (Train No. 19101) derailed while entering the platform at Bhilad station at around 6:27 am on Tuesday. No passengers or railway staff were injured in the incident.

The derailment caused disruptions across Western Railway services, leaving several long-distance trains running behind schedule. The Intercity Express was halted at Virar station for over 30 minutes following the incident. Railway officials indicated that some trains travelling from Gujarat may be diverted via alternate routes.

An Accident Relief Train and relief equipment were dispatched from Valsad to assist at the location. Re-railing operations were launched on a war footing to clear the platform track and normalize train operations.
