Central Railway to Run Night Traffic Block at Titwala for Platform Extension

Central Railway will operate the second phase of a 15-day special traffic and power block at Titwala in Thane district from the midnight of September 2-3 to the midnight of September 8-9. The work is being carried out to extend the railway platform to accommodate 15-car suburban rakes.

The overall infrastructure work spans a 15-day period, running from the midnight of August 28-29 to the midnight of September 11-12. The railway authorities are implementing nightly blocks lasting five to six hours during this window to carry out the required engineering and electrical tasks.

During the upcoming second phase, train operations will be regulated. Suburban services will not operate between Titwala and Kasara during the block period on the night of September 2-3 and from the midnight of September 4-5 through September 8-9.

The platform extension at Titwala station aims to support longer 15-car suburban trains to enhance passenger carrying capacity across the Central Railway network once the project is finished.
