Disabled Man Dies After Being Pushed From Local Train Between Mahim and Bandra

A 64-year-old disabled man died after being allegedly pushed from the Divyangjan compartment of a moving local train between Mahim and Bandra on Thursday afternoon.

The victim has been identified as Cajetan Denis Pires. According to a railway report, the incident occurred at around 1:22 pm aboard a Churchgate-Borivli slow local train (service number 90467) while it was travelling between Mahim and Bandra.

Fellow passengers inside the compartment witnessed the act and apprehended the alleged accused. When the train arrived at Platform 1 at Bandra station, passengers handed the suspect over to the railway police.

The Bandra Government Railway Police (GRP) has taken the accused into custody and registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 103 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
