Dombivli Cop Wife Booked For Abetting Husband Shriram Misal Suicide

A police constable has been booked for allegedly abetting the suicide of her husband, who was also a police constable, in the Dombivli locality of Kalyan. The First Information Report (FIR) was registered against the wife, Shivganga Misal, more than a month after her husband, 37-year-old Shriram Misal, was found dead on the terrace of their home on April 28.

Shriram Misal was a police constable attached to the Vishnu Nagar police station in Dombivli. The FIR was registered against Shivganga Misal based on a formal complaint filed by Shriram's brother.

According to the complaint, the couple had faced severe marital discord for several years. The complainant alleged that Shivganga frequently subjected Shriram to harassment and humiliation. She reportedly taunted him on multiple occasions by citing her seniority over him in the police department and her higher salary.

The complainant also alleged that Shivganga was involved in extramarital relationships. These allegations are currently being investigated by the police. To assist with the probe, Shriram's brother submitted several pieces of evidence to the investigators, including audio recordings, call records, and other materials.

According to the brother's statement, Shriram had expressed deep frustration and had spoken about suicide shortly before he ended his life.

The deceased constable, Shriram Misal, was 37 years old at the time of his death. His body was discovered on the terrace of his residence on April 28, which initially led to an investigation into the circumstances of his death. The filing of the FIR against Shivganga Misal more than a month later marks a major shift in the case, as she now faces legal action and potential prosecution for abetment of suicide.

In addition to the allegations against Shivganga, the police are also probing the alleged role of another police officer who was named in the complaint.
