Dombivli Policewoman Booked For Abetting Husband Shriram Misal's Suicide

An FIR for abetment of suicide has been registered against a female police constable in Dombivli, more than a month after her husband, who was also a policeman, died by suicide. The deceased officer, 37-year-old Shriram Misal, was found dead on the terrace of his home on April 28. He was a constable attached to the Vishnu Nagar police station in Dombivli.
The case was registered against his wife, Shivganga Misal, who is also a police constable. The registration of the First Information Report (FIR) follows a detailed complaint lodged by Shriram’s brother, who has accused Shivganga of driving his brother to take the extreme step.
According to the police complaint, the couple had been facing severe marital discord for several years. The complainant alleged that Shivganga frequently subjected Shriram to harassment and humiliation at home.
A key source of conflict, as per the complaint, was Shivganga's behavior regarding their professional standings. She allegedly taunted Shriram repeatedly, citing her seniority over him in the police department and her higher salary.
The brother's complaint also raised allegations regarding extramarital relationships, which the local police are currently investigating. To support these claims, the complainant submitted several pieces of evidence to the police, including audio recordings, call records, and other relevant materials.
According to the deceased's brother, Shriram had expressed immense frustration over the ongoing domestic issues. He had reportedly spoken about suicide shortly before his death on April 28.
In addition to the allegations against Shivganga, the police are also investigating the role of another police officer who was named in the complaint. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the constable's death remains ongoing as authorities examine the submitted evidence.
