Eknath Shinde Reviews Plan to Redevelop 147 MSRTC Bus Depots Under PPP Model

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reviewed a comprehensive plan to redevelop 147 Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus depots on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis during a special review meeting at Sahyadri Guest House in Mumbai on Tuesday. The project focuses on modernising state transport infrastructure and improving amenities for passengers.

According to Shinde, 147 MSRTC bus depots and corporation-owned properties across the state will be taken up for development under the PPP model in the first phase of the initiative.

During the meeting at Sahyadri Guest House, the Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to ensure that all new bus depots and additional structures developed on MSRTC land are equipped with modern facilities. Shinde specifically instructed that the new depots feature an "iconic" design intended to enhance the visual appearance of the surrounding cities.

The special review meeting was organized to assess plans for the development of MSRTC properties and to establish directives for upgrading passenger facilities across Maharashtra.
