Elderly man killed after tree collapses in Navpada opposite Phoenix Mall in Kamani

An elderly man was killed on Saturday, July 4, 2026, after a tree collapsed in the Navpada area, located opposite Phoenix Mall in Kamani, Mumbai.

The incident prompted an immediate response from local authorities. Officials and staff of the Municipal Corporation rushed to the spot shortly after the collapse occurred to manage the situation and clear the affected site.

Upon arriving at the scene in Kamani, the Municipal Corporation workers initiated clearing operations. The fallen tree had blocked the local area, requiring the civic staff to carry out trimming and removal of the debris to restore access.

Following the incident, the victim was shifted to Rajawadi Hospital. Officials at the hospital are currently carrying out the necessary medico-legal formalities.
