Gazebo Roof Collapse at Sion East Civic Garden Injures 5 Senior Citizens

Five senior citizens were injured on Wednesday afternoon after the gazebo roof of a ground-floor structure collapsed at Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's Mala Garden in the Pratiksha Nagar area of Sion East, Mumbai.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade was alerted to the incident at around 4:48 pm. The structural collapse occurred at Mala Garden, located opposite T/18 Building in Pratiksha Nagar.

According to officials, the gazebo roof of a ground-floor structure inside the municipal park caved in, leaving at least three to four people feared trapped beneath the collapsed portion immediately following the incident.

All five injured individuals, who are senior citizens, were rescued from the scene and transported to Sion Hospital in private ambulances prior to the arrival of the Mumbai Fire Brigade.

Fire brigade personnel and civic officials responded to the location following the report to inspect the collapse site at the public garden.
