Govandi Woman Accuses Rajawadi Hospital of Negligence After Baby Dies in Womb

A 33-year-old resident of Govandi, Hira Bhandari, has alleged that severe delays and medical negligence at Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar East resulted in the death of her unborn child.

Bhandari, who had entered the ninth month of her pregnancy, stated that a caesarean section (C-section) procedure had originally been advised for August 19. However, rather than proceeding with the delivery, hospital staff repeatedly directed her to undergo sonographies while reassuring her that the fetus was healthy.

A week after the scheduled delivery date, the baby was declared dead inside her womb.

Bhandari questioned the hospital's handling of her case, pointing out that the initial medical advice had indicated the baby was ready for delivery on August 19. She stated that despite being repeatedly told the baby was doing fine, the procedure was delayed while she was continually sent for further scans.
