Heavy Rain Disrupts Mumbai BEST Buses With Diversions At Dharavi And Nine Other Locations

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, heavy monsoon rainfall caused widespread disruptions to the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) bus services across Mumbai. The intense downpour forced the transport undertaking to divert multiple bus routes, starting from 6:30 AM, particularly impacting commuters traveling through the Dharavi area and 90 Feet Road.
The disruptions were triggered by a combination of weather-related hazards that compromised road safety. Across the city, multiple roads were blocked due to uprooted trees and fallen branches. Additionally, damaged road infrastructure created further obstacles for the heavy passenger vehicles, making normal operations impossible on several standard routes.
According to the BEST Traffic Control update, transport authorities had to implement route diversions at least nine different locations across Mumbai. These measures were taken to ensure the safety of the commuting public and to keep the city's bus services running as smoothly as possible under the challenging weather conditions.
A major point of disruption was reported at 90 Feet Road, where a broken chamber cover presented a hazard to passing vehicles. To address this issue, BEST diverted bus routes 312, 411, 341, and 176. These buses were rerouted to travel via 60 Feet Road instead. This diversion, which commenced at 6:30 AM, was actively managed by personnel from the Dharavi Depot.
With multiple routes altered, BEST advised commuters to expect delays on the affected services. The transport undertaking urged passengers to follow official updates as transport teams worked to manage the situation on the ground. The diversions highlighted the immediate impact of the Sunday rainfall on Mumbai's public transit network, as commuters faced longer travel times due to the blocked roads and damaged infrastructure.
