Hindi Animated Film Return Of The Jungle Releases With 3.0 Rating

The new Hindi animated adventure film Return Of The Jungle officially released on May 29, 2026, bringing a homegrown, family-friendly story to cinema screens, including those in Bandra. Directed by acclaimed animator Vaibhav Kumaresh, the film has garnered a 3.0 rating from both critics and users for its wholesome celebration of Indian storytelling traditions.
The 1-hour and 36-minute film features a cast of actors including Surendra Bhatia, Manish Bhawan, Arav Bhatia, Saurav Chakraborty, and Vaibhav Kumaresh. The movie is designed as a colourful family entertainer that blends childhood nostalgia, Indian folktales, and modern school-life struggles.
The plot follows a schoolchild named Mihir and his group of friends who find themselves constantly targeted by a ruthless school bully. Lacking the ability to confront him directly, the children seek guidance from their grandfather, affectionately known as Thatha. Through a series of Panchatantra-inspired jungle stories, Thatha teaches them about courage, empathy, teamwork, and wisdom, helping them peacefully resolve their real-world conflicts.
In a review published on the day of the release, writer Archika Khurana noted that the film delivers a warm, engaging experience that children are likely to cherish. The animation, created by Kumaresh and his team, blends modern Indian settings with lush, imaginative jungle landscapes. Character designs were praised for giving each figure a distinct personality and charm, making the animated world feel lively.
The soundtrack, composed by Roto Shah and Advait Nemlekar, features a mix of traditional bhajans and folk melodies, adding a distinct local flavour to the movie. While some reviewers noted that the film's narrative remains straightforward and predictable, and that some musical sequences slow down the pacing in the second half, the overall reception has praised the film's sincerity and warmth.
Director Vaibhav Kumaresh, known for his previous popular creations such as Simpoo and Lamput, was commended for creating a vibrant animated world. Ultimately, the film stands out as a refreshing alternative to Western-templated children's fantasy films by embracing Indian traditions and storytelling heritage.
