MVA Backs Cockroach Janta Party Protest At Jantar Mantar Over NEET Leak

On Saturday, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition in Mumbai declared its support for the Cockroach Janta Party’s protest held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The demonstration was organized to demand the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the recent NEET paper leak controversy.
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray spoke out in solidarity with the agitators, warning that the government must not underestimate the protesters. Thackeray highlighted the plight of the students who have taken to the streets in Delhi's intense heat, carrying deep concerns about their academic futures.
Thackeray criticized the labeling of the protesting students, stating that those who are called the destiny-makers and future of the country have been forced to demonstrate. He argued that it is unjust to belittle the youth by calling them "cockroaches" and denying them justice. According to Thackeray, the NEET paper leak has devastated lakhs of young people, prompting them to raise their voices through this movement.
NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar also lent his support, describing the large turnout at the Cockroach Janta Party’s movement as a clear sign of simmering discontent among the nation's youth. Pawar attributed the outrage to the ongoing issues surrounding both the NEET and CBSE exams, which he blamed on the Central government's policies. He stated that the Education Minister must take responsibility and resign.
Mumbai Congress chief and MP Varsha Gaikwad criticized the ruling BJP, claiming the party cares only about holding onto power rather than securing the education of the youth. Gaikwad also targeted the education minister of Uttar Pradesh for questioning why Pradhan should resign, pointing out his past efforts to remove nursery rhymes from school syllabi. Gaikwad stated that the government's refusal to step down demonstrates a complete lack of accountability.
