Silt Spill Near Vashi Toll Plaza Disrupts Sion-Panvel Highway Traffic

Traffic movement on the north-bound carriageway of the Sion-Panvel Highway near the Vashi toll plaza was partially disrupted for nearly three hours on Saturday morning. The disruption occurred after a dumper truck accidentally spilt a large quantity of silt onto the roadway.

The incident took place at around 5:30 am on a bridge near Vashi village. The dumper truck was carrying silt from Mumbai's desilting works when the material was accidentally dropped onto the road.

The spilt silt spread across a stretch of nearly 50 metres of the highway. The presence of the material made the road surface slippery, creating difficult driving conditions for commuters traveling along the route.

The partial traffic disruption on the north-bound carriageway of the highway lasted for nearly three hours following the early morning incident near Vashi village.
