Maharashtra Cabinet Approves Revised Land Acquisition Compensation Rules

The Maharashtra Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, approved changes to rules governing delayed land acquisition compensation and cleared concessions for renewable energy projects during a meeting held in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Under the newly approved decisions, the cabinet sanctioned amendments to Section 72 of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013. The revision addresses the guidelines and rules governing delayed compensation provided for acquired land across the state.
Along with the legal amendments to land acquisition rules, the state cabinet cleared targeted concessions aimed at encouraging renewable energy projects in Maharashtra.
The policy decisions were finalized during the state cabinet session in the capital.
