Mumbai Crime Branch Arrests Two With Rs 3.25 Crore Heroin In Kandivali West

The Crime Branch Unit 11 of the Mumbai Police has arrested two persons for allegedly trafficking and selling heroin near BMC Garden on Yashodariya Road in Kandivali West, seizing 651 grams of the contraband valued at approximately Rs 3.25 crore.

Acting on intelligence received on August 20, a police team intercepted the two suspects in Kandivali West. A subsequent search of their possession led to the recovery of 651 grams of heroin, estimated to be worth Rs 3,25,90,000.

Alongside the illicit narcotics, law enforcement officers seized Rs 2.10 lakh in cash, two mobile phones, and additional material worth Rs 50,800. The total value of all seized property, including the contraband and cash, has been estimated at Rs 3,28,50,800.

According to an official press note issued on August 21, the crackdown was executed on the directions of Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti as part of a targeted special drive against drug trafficking and the illegal sale of narcotic substances across Mumbai and its adjoining areas. The operation was carried out under the guidance of senior Mumbai Police and Crime Branch officials.

A case has been registered against the two accused at the Kandivali Police Station under Sections 8(c), 21(c), and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

Both individuals remain in police custody following their arrest. Investigators are currently looking into their broader involvement in the heroin trafficking network to identify other persons connected with the racket.
