Mumbai Lake Levels Reach 95.95 Per Cent With 13.88 Lakh Million Litres of Water

Water levels in the seven lakes supplying drinking water to Mumbai reached 95.95 per cent of their total live storage capacity as of 6 am on Saturday, August 29, according to data from the Hydraulic Engineer's Department at the Bhandup Master Control Centre.

The seven reservoirs collectively held 13,88,785 million litres of water at the time of the morning assessment.

The recorded water stock is lower than the volume recorded during the corresponding period last year, when the reservoirs held 13,96,900 million litres, representing 96.51 per cent of total capacity.

According to civic figures, the lake levels were also compared with 2024, when the reservoirs held 13,85,834 million litres, which accounted for 95.75 per cent of the total live storage capacity.
