Navi Mumbai Police Bust Fake Insurance Call Centre In Mahape, Arrest Three

The Navi Mumbai Cyber Police busted a fraudulent call centre operating from the Technocity Building in Mahape on July 18, 2026, arresting three key suspects involved in a nationwide vehicle insurance renewal scam. The operation, which allegedly defrauded victims of approximately ₹14.08 lakh, was uncovered following technical intelligence shared by Maharashtra Cyber.
The raid was executed at Office No. 801, A-Wing of the Technocity Building by a team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Dr. Vishal Hire and Senior Police Inspector Vishal Patil. During the raid, officers found 32 telecallers working under two front companies named "Life Deal" and "AI Ocean Enterprises".
The three arrested individuals have been identified as Prasad Todankar, Faiyaz Nasir, and Vaibhav Ingale. While the three key accused were taken into custody, the police served notices to the 32 telecallers employed at the office as part of the ongoing investigation.
According to the police, the fraudulent operation targeted victims by offering discounted vehicle insurance renewals from reputed companies. After victims transferred money online, the accused blocked their numbers and failed to issue any policies.
In other instances, the gang would initially issue genuine insurance policies to customers. Once the customer received the policy copy, the accused allegedly contacted the insurance company to cancel the policy, subsequently diverting the refunded money into bank accounts controlled by their front firms.
The cyber police seized 26 mobile phones, 27 hard disks, and five laptops from the premises. A technical analysis linked the SIM cards used by the call centre to 145 complaints registered across India on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal.
ACP Dr. Vishal Hire stated that a detailed technical investigation is underway to identify other individuals involved and trace the full extent of the fraudulent network.
