Shiv Sena Hosts Yuva Samvad Youth Interactive Session in Andheri
Shiv Sena organised a 'Yuva Samvad' interactive programme in Mumbai's Andheri Assembly constituency, bringing together local youth and Gen Z participants to engage directly with party leader Dr. Shrikant Shinde on topics ranging from education and artificial intelligence to employment.
The event was organised by Andheri MLA Murji Patel and attended by Industries Minister Uday Samant, MP Ravindra Waikar, and other Shiv Sena office-bearers. During the session, young attendees raised questions regarding competitive examinations, startup opportunities, support for artists, and learning the Marathi language.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Shrikant Shinde emphasised that young people should not be viewed merely as a vote bank or through the prism of elections, but through their aspirations and future. He stated that meaningful dialogue with youth requires a two-way process to understand what they need.
Participants highlighted concerns over the rising cost of education in the digital era, noting that internet access, devices, and subscriptions to private coaching platforms pose a financial burden for students from economically weaker backgrounds. One student suggested providing digital learning and online coaching for competitive exams at the local level. Dr. Shinde responded that such measures would be seriously considered, with efforts explored to establish similar digital facilities across every Assembly constituency in consultation with stakeholders.
On queries regarding entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence, Dr. Shrikant Shinde said Maharashtra remains at the forefront of the country's startup ecosystem and noted that the state government has formulated an AI policy to prepare youth for new opportunities. In response to a query about opportunities for artists, he agreed that their contributions deserve recognition and promised the issue would be addressed.
When a student from Uttar Pradesh asked about learning Marathi, Dr. Shinde mentioned that efforts are already underway to teach Marathi to auto-rickshaw drivers and that similar initiatives for youth would be explored.
Speaking at the event, MLA Murji Patel described himself as a grassroots worker connected with ordinary families and slum communities, praising Dr. Shinde's accessibility. Industries Minister Uday Samant also addressed the gathering, commending Dr. Shinde's background and national commitment.
