St. Xavier's College Mumbai Concludes Annual Cultural Festival Malhar 2026

St. Xavier's College Mumbai has concluded its three-day annual cultural festival, Malhar 2026, featuring a blend of sports, performing arts, and panel discussions across the campus. Centred around the theme "Iridescence: The Spectrum of Expressions," the festival brought together students, artists, and prominent speakers for competitive and interactive sessions.

The festival commenced on August 13 with Elimination Day, kicking off with an eight-team volleyball knockout tournament titled Ace the Court, organized by ETCW. Literary competitions included LA's Shark Tank, where writers pitched original stories in the style of startup founders. Performing arts events included Band Baaja Baarat and Taal Se Taal Mila by IPA, open-mic poetry at Slam It Down, and a Bollywood-comedy fusion titled Picture Abhi Baaki Hai. The opening day concluded with WPAS's Jack in the Aux, featuring band performances.

Day One hosted the festival's Conclave under the theme "Pratibimb." SheSays founder and Xavier's alumna Trisha Shetty addressed students on courage and overcoming fear, while writer Anish Gawande spoke on the importance of direct engagement and understanding current realities. Beauty entrepreneurs Karishma Kevalramani of FAE Beauty and Namrata Soni of Simply Nam shared their experiences in building independent brands and navigating industry standards. On stage, World Performing Arts' Novacore presented hip-hop and break-dance routines, alongside theatrical productions such as Multiverse of Madness, Sound of Silence, No Captions Needed, and Shakespeare in the Dark.

Day Two continued the Conclave sessions with speakers from cinema, sports, journalism, and public administration. Peek TV's Priyanshi Sharma spoke on independent journalism, while actors Richa Chadha and Divyendu Sharma discussed career foundations and the influence of streaming platforms. Maharashtra Food Safety Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe addressed student leadership, badminton champion Saina Nehwal spoke on discipline in sports, and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali discussed narrative integrity.

The festival concluded with events including the Malhar Thunder Cup, The Final Frame, street theatre at The Great Indian Nukkad, hip-hop at Ghost Beat, and closing segments including Out of Tools, Jack in the Aux, and Now Playing 2016.
